Troy ounce, gram and mithqal

World gold prices are quoted per troy ounce, which is 31.1035 grams. In Iraq and the Gulf, gold is often priced per mithqal of 5 grams, and in South Asia per tola of 11.66 grams. 21K gold is 87.5% pure, so a gram of 21K costs 87.5% of a gram of 24K.

No. Prices change every minute, so enter the current price from your bank, dealer or a market website; the calculator does all the conversions.

Why is my jeweller’s price higher?

Jewellery includes a making charge and the shop’s margin. Enter the making charge per gram to include it.

Is 24K treated as 100% gold?

Yes, because the world ounce price is quoted for pure (999.9) gold.
