Excel to CSV

Excel to CSV

Export every sheet of a spreadsheet as a CSV file

Files are processed privately and deleted automatically after 60 minutes.

CSV is the universal format for importing data into databases, online shops, mailing tools and accounting software. This converter exports every sheet of your Excel or OpenDocument spreadsheet as a separate CSV file.

All files are saved as UTF-8, so Arabic, Kurdish, accented and other non-English characters are preserved correctly.

How to convert Excel to CSV

  1. Upload your XLSX, XLS or ODS file.
  2. Click Convert.
  3. Download the CSV file, or a ZIP file with one CSV per sheet.

Excel to CSV features

  • Exports all sheets, not just the first one.
  • UTF-8 encoding for every language.
  • Comma-separated, with quotes around values that contain commas.
  • Values are exported as they are displayed in the spreadsheet.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I get a ZIP file?

A CSV file can only hold one table, so every sheet becomes its own CSV. If your file has one sheet, you get one CSV.

My Arabic or Kurdish text looks wrong in Excel. Why?

The CSV is correct UTF-8. When opening it in Excel, use Data > From Text/CSV and choose UTF-8, or open it in Google Sheets.

Are formulas kept?

No. CSV contains only values, so the calculated results are exported.

Which separator is used?

A comma, which is the most widely supported.
