Text Compare
Highlight the differences between two texts
Paste the original text and the changed text to see exactly what was added, removed or modified. Changed lines are shown side by side, with the changed words highlighted inside them.
Use it to check edits to contracts and essays, compare two versions of code or configuration, or find what changed between two lists.
How to compare two texts
- Paste the original text on the left and the changed text on the right.
- Choose the side-by-side or unified view and, if you want, ignore whitespace or letter case.
- Click Compare. Copy or download the differences as a .diff file.
Text compare features
- Line-by-line comparison with word-level highlighting.
- Side-by-side and unified views, readable on phones and in dark mode.
- Counts of added, removed and unchanged lines.
- Long unchanged parts are folded so you see only what matters.
Reading the result
Red lines with − were removed from the original, green lines with + were added. When a line was edited, both versions appear next to each other and only the changed words are marked, so small edits are easy to spot.
