How counting works: words are found with your browser’s language-aware word segmentation, so Kurdish, Arabic, Urdu and other scripts with joining letters and marks are kept whole. Sentences end at . ! ? ؟ and ۔ ; paragraphs are separated by an empty line.

Paste an essay, article or any text to see every word with how often it appears and its share of the whole text. You also get the number of words, unique words, characters, sentences, paragraphs and the reading time.

Switch to 2-word or 3-word phrases to find repeated expressions and keywords. Words are recognised with language-aware segmentation, so Kurdish, Arabic and Urdu words stay whole.

Frequently asked questions

How are words counted?

The tool uses your browser’s word segmentation for the text’s language, so contractions, joined letters and marks are handled correctly.

What are stop words?

Very common words such as “the”, “and” or “و” and “لە”. Ignoring them shows the words that really describe your text.

Can I open the results in Excel?

Yes. The CSV file uses UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel shows Kurdish and Arabic correctly.
